Couples Therapy

I have seen couples in my practice for many years. I believe that connecting as a couple is the most rewarding and yet difficult relationship between adults. It involves communication, trust, sharing, intimacy , compromise and cooperation. When any of these aspects break down, the resulting hurt and anger further destabilize the relationship.

Couples come to therapy to rebuild:

  • Communication skills
  • Trust in each other
  • Intimacy – physical and emotional
  • Cooperation – being on the same page
  • Compromise – valuing each other’s needs and interests

As a couples’ therapist, I help couples hear each other’s perspective. I teach communication skills and help couples negotiate conflict. Couples who have lost their way with each other need to rebuild intimacy and trust.
